Acne Scarring

Acupuncture can help with Acne scarring

Acne Scarring

Most of the time, with Acne comes Acne scarring. Acne scarring can present itself as hyperpigmentation – red and purple spots, pitting in the skin, and raised hard lumps.
Cosmetic Acupuncture can help reduce Acne scarring within weeks.

Types of Acne Scarring

Pigmentation: Red, purple or brown spots left over where the Acne used to be. These dark areas, or red spots can be stubborn and may not fade even when the original pimple has gone. Often these marks can stay for months and years without fading without treatment. Cosmetic Acupuncture can help with breaking up the pigmentation and promoting blood circulation to move the stagnant red and purple pigment.
Pitting: Acne scarring in the form of pitting leaves the skin surface dotted with small pockets and craters. This is particularly prevalent with Cystic Acne where the pimple was large, deep and slow to heal. Facial Acupuncture treatment can be used to stimulate the process of collagen production in the local area, softening and filling the pitting in the skin.
Bumps: Often larger Acne can remain as a raised, hard lump in the skin. Although it looks like a pimple, it is no longer active and is a hardened scar left from a slow healing pimple. Stimulation through Acupuncture can be used to help with reducing the inflammation, break up adhesions in scarring and promote the healing in the local area by signalling the body to heal and repair.
